If you want to give a gift to someone who has familiar with any fantastic game, i think Micrsoft Xbox 360 is a good choice. its has by far a best portfolio in challenging game (racing, fighting, adventures etc..).
It is also supported brilliantly by the Xbox Live online service.
My recommendations, do not buy the cheapest variant of Xbox 360. Because its too basic to your children.
